All my life when my mother would drive with me back and forth between Houston and New Orleans, little kid me would see the road signs for the Little Capital, and I would beg and beg for her to let me see the Little Capital. She kept telling me that it was just a gas station, but I didn 't believe her, I knew in my heart there was going to be a miniature Louisiana State Capital building there. Now, I 'm in my mid-40s, and I finally decided to stop and see the Little Capital....It 's just a gas station. They don 't even have a Lego replica of the Louisiana Capital or anything, just a logo of the State Capital building. Such a let down.I hope whoever put those billboards up, Come see the Little Capital! feels ashamed of themselves. At least commission someone to build a miniature Capitol so little kids like me can say that they saw the Little Capital instead of a gas station.
I never have any complaints when we stop here on our way to Lake Charles, or on way home to Jackson, LA. Food, service, prices.. A
Great place to fuel up but also get a taste of cajun country. Good selection of souvenirs and locale fare.
Cheeseburger, catfish, shrimp, breakfast platter... none better for sure. Go very early for breakfast if you want biscuits better than Mama's! Perfect every time. Thanks y'all!
