The assortment of homemade cakes was delightful, and the coffee was excellent. The decor was beautiful, and it wasn't long before the restaurant filled up with customers, some of whom were ordering lunch. The staff were polite and cheerful, making for a pleasant atmosphere. Parking was also easy.
After hearing rave reviews about this restaurant, I was eager to try their cake. I opted for the lemon drizzle slice and a cup of tea. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that the cake was dry and not up to par with what is expected of a lemon drizzle cake. Despite the friendly staff and charming Tearoom atmosphere, I left most of the cake untouched. It's a shame, as I really wanted to enjoy my experience here. I cannot recommend visiting this Tearoom, as the most crucial aspect of a tea room is delicious cake, which was lacking in this instance.
It is a little gem in Dereham with delicious cakes and tasty sandwiches which are freshly made whilst you wait.
Donna and Tess are fantastic hosts at the Dereham Windmill cafe. We have visited several times and always enjoy their safe, socially distanced takeaways served with a smile. The scones and afternoon teas are delicious, but Donna's cake making skills steal the show. She never disappoints, and this year she made me another beautiful birthday cake. I highly recommend this cafe. Thank you, ladies.
We went for lunch at The Partea Hut near the Dereham windmill with a friend. Nice environment, lovely interior and service and a number of nice sandwiches/toasties/pasties/sausage rolls followed by cakes. Altogether very pleasant. The coffee needs improving, though.
