It is easter. One wants to go to a lovely restaurant and have breakfast. One doesn't eat very early. we thought. We went to CANOVA. Lovely place in the sun. It took some time before we were noticed. We ordered breakfast.Alas that was not possible. We could choose from the Picasso menu. Not very difficult, one choice for the veggies. Who cares, the sun is shining. It took a very long time to prepare, well I found it reassuring in a way. There were a lot of waitresses, most problably the first day at work for all of them. The plate arrived and it was very, very lovely and tasty. We were happy and after a time asked for the bill. A bombshell. In two ways; I keep wandering why one is always being robbed for a bottle of water. And it took a lot of time to produce the bill, let alone pay it. Paying by creditcard created panic. It took more than 10 minutes to arrange that. I took the liberty of sitting down. A severe lady ordered me away from my chair. So I left feeling like a beggar.
A very pleasant cafe and restaurant in Bremen's art gallery. Have eaten lunch here a couple of times during exhibitions; this month we had duck with red cabbage and dumplings and an onion tart with a good salad. Food is high-quality and service is quick and pleasant. Not expensive at lunchtime. There's outside seating in summer.
We liked too much. there was an exception: all served coffee products were lukewarm too cool, even from the thermoscan.
Super breakfast, great and friendly service!
