Jaya - Bremen

The restaurant attempts to project an island image quite well although difficult during the winter in Germany. Situated in Überseestadt overlooking the yacht quays of Europahafen it offers self-service meals. I have had two curries which were tasty with lots of rice but with little meat. It is appreciated that the condiments are also self-service and one can garnish the meal to personal state and choice. Very popular for lunch with the local business crowd, in the evenings especially when music dance is offered and on the weekends although they seem to be closed on Saturdays.

I loved it! Nice location at a small harbour especially when it’s sunny. My Curry Chicken was tasty and for 8,50€ fair priced. The veggie curry was ok but not more, definitely something like more vegetable was missing. There is only selfservice, so the personal we meet were friendly but busy behind the counter. Creditcards are welcome over 10€ charge.

I went their with my sons to have a quick bite in the evening. Nothing fancy, BUT great solid, fresh food. The service was very friendly and attentive. We had two chicken curries and a veggie curry very nice with the right level of spicyness. The view directly on the waterfront was also great. And finally I can recommend the cocktails. So. all in all: great Asian food for low budget in a great setting!

The restaurant is beautifully located by the water in the harbour basin. Mr. Subri, the owner, is a very great host and the Ceylon chick is the hammer!

The shop, the delicious food and the friendly service are definitely worth the visit!!!
