Bur Bun - Brentwood

I wish I would've asked the name of the black haired lady that was a waitress/bartender. She was so friendly to us. She put us on to some great bourbon!

The smash burger I tried was thicker than expected, but the bun was delicious. The sliced tomatoes on the burger were excellent. However, the mustard on the table had been left out for a while and had separated, with a lot of water pooling on top. On the upside, they offered a great selection of local IPA and domestic beers, although my glass wasn't chilled, and the can could have been colder. Our server was fantastic—very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was generally pleasant, except for a few loud families with small children who happened to be there when we arrived after traveling all day. We were seated quite close to other tables, which felt unnecessary given the small size of the restaurant. It would have been nice to have a bit more distance between families at that hour. Our table was clean and spacious, and our server communicated well, making sure we had everything we needed. This restaurant is located inside the Hilton Suites hotel, which is nice. The nachos were really good, and I noticed they had a sirloin steak on the menu. My son enjoyed his grilled cheese, and the shoestring fries were thicker than those found at Steak 'n Shake but still quite tasty. They also offered great salads! Overall, it was a good experience.

We had a hard time deciding what to order, so we ended up choosing a few different dishes to sample. Everything was definitely enjoyed!

The food was excellent, and the service was quite good too. However, I believe they could have benefitted from having more than one server. There was only the bartender and one server on duty. She did a fantastic job, but she could have used some assistance when the dinner crowd increased.

I've tried several burgers at Bur Bun, and they've all been amazing. My favorites are the Jezebel and the PB&J. The Jezebel features a generous slab of cream cheese, an onion ring, and pepper jelly, while the PB&J is topped with pork belly, bacon jam, and sorghum maple syrup. Bur Bun also boasts an excellent selection of whiskeys and bourbons. Stop by for a drink and definitely stick around for the burgers!
