Good food but poor service. Food was great and service started out great but soon our drinks weren't getting refilled and we waited 20 minutes for the bill. Great place for a crowd but not for an intimate meal

Yummy Neighborhood Restaurant. This is my go-to place whenever I have a hankering for wood-fired pizza, or to break bread (er, pizza with a few friends at a neighborhood establishment. With the demise of Il Vicino 's in Clayton several years ago, there has been a vacuum for good Napoli-style thin crust pizza, but TwinOak has quickly come into its own. The pizzas are a touch small for two people to share, so it is recommended to get one or two appetizers, or better yet, get two pizzas and share! The variety of flavors and the fresh, hot, crispy taste of wood-fired pizza cannot be beat by conventional pizzas cooked in conventional ovens. I 've tried a number of their signature pizzas, but you cannot go wrong with the Meatier-ologist. The appetizers are equally tasty, with bacon-wrapped shrimp poppers being the best--except, you will have trouble deciding which dipping sauces to get! (Personally, I like the honey chipotle and mango salsa. The wood-fired dough is a close second, when dipped in a most vibrant and flavorful fire-roasted red pepper and olive tapenade! Their take on Caesar salad is almost minimalist, with almost a clear, crisp taste, and not the usual heavy, creamy, salty approach. Topped with several high-quality anchovies by request, this becomes a memorable Caesar. As for their Fork Knife , I 've only tried their wood-fire roasted salmon. I 've been meaning to venture to the others, but this fish dish is so good, I keep coming back to it. Coupled with their signature Twice Baked Potato as a side, salmon has never tasted any better. Then there is their dessert... Their Deep Dish Dee-Lish is your classic Toll-House Chocolate Chip cookie dough, but wood-fire cooked in a ramekin. The middle is indented with a huge glob of vanilla ice-cream, and the whole thing is served warm. Get several spoons and share with your friends. Delicious. You 'll have to have several extra workouts, but it 's worth it. They also have Key Lime Pie on occasion, which is made by someone on the waitstaff, so it is off the menu--it disappears quickly each week, so grab it when you can.

I went with my husband and daughter during their happy hour. It's an amazing deal, half price pizza and beer. We ordered 2 different pizzas and the smoked chicken wings. The fresh crust was great, and the unique toppings were unlike any pizza I've had In a while. The smoked wings.... Heavenly. Our waitress was top notch, very friendly and provided great service. Very clean. We will be back!

Great pizza and great ownership. The owner sat me, got me a water, and made sure I was served in a timely manner. Very professional.
