My fiance and I are planning our wedding here (Wedgewood Weddings partners with the Nines Restaurant) and every time we come by for a planning meeting we come eat at the Nines Restaurant. In particular we as always hope to see the bartender Jeff; whenever we stop in he gives us superb service, going above and beyond. (Good enough that we specifically requested he bar tend our wedding)
While everyone enjoyed their salads, I have to say that the waiter took too long to get us our menus and was completely unattentive, even though the place was not particularly busy. Then he delivered our appetizer without the ranch dressing that it is supposed to come with. He never looked in our direction, so I walked over and asked him (nicely! for the dressing and he gave me such a nasty look that I was shocked. He brought over the dressing several minutes later, and then seemed to improve his attitude, but I was totally appalled at his initial rudeness. Another server (a woman took over toward the end of our meal who was extremely nice and helpful, so perhaps we will visit again. I enjoy the food there, but if he is rude to me again, it will definitely keep me from returning.
Just be aware that the price you see in the menu is not the price you will be charged. Ordered a hamburger, menu said $11.95 but when bill came I was charged $13.95. My friend order a hot dog that was listed at $7.50 but was charged $8.50. I asked the waitress what happened and was told it was the pandemic, further she said they didn't get new menus yet and after all it was worth it. I don't think this is allowed under consumer law. They can change the price on their current menus or warn customers of different prices. Neither of which they did.
This was easily the worst among the so-called luxury hotels I have stayed in I have stayed in well over 500 over the past twenty years . There's that tell-tale sign of a poorly managed hotel as I waited a long time before I was checked in. I was initially put in a room so close to the lobby that I could hear the noise. When I asked to be put as far away from the elevators or the lobby as possible, I was given a room right next to the staff elevator ! . No apologies. The breakfast was equally atrocious. One morning I was told the wait would be 45 minutes. When I ordered eggs benedict, the dish itself was extremely hot but the food was stone cold indeed, the spinach was partially frozen . When I asked to have it reheated, it came back at roughly the same temperature. I can go on, but it is not worth the while. It is NOT a luxury hotel, but basically a sub-standard Hilton or Marriott and, indeed, it is owned by the latter .
