The Rooftop At The Royal Shakespeare Theatre

This is by far the best place to eat in Stratford in my opinion. The food is amazing, a real foodies delight. The service from the top down is superb. From Ben the manager to Dylan to Esme who was our waitress, it was so good compared to other places in Stratford. If you haven't tried it, you should it's well worth the visit and a credit to the theatre. Only reason we didn't post pictures of the food was my guests tucked the minute it arrived. Due to intolerances and allergies I have a diet which often proves impossible for many restaurants, but not the Rooftop. As a regular diner they have these listed but always double check even when we have pre ordered. By pre ordering it gives the chef time to look at our request and advise if the choices are possible, or possible with adaption. In some cases where perhaps a large piece of meat is prepared with certain additions for taste it would not be possible to cater for me and I fully accept that.The staff are wonderfully friendly and always go the extra mile to look after their clients, even when they don't always seem to be that nice to the staff. They are extremely professional and with regular menu changes going back is not boring.In the summer you can't have a better location than the rooftop and even in the dark of winter you can sit and guess where the car headlights are going and why?Knowing the show you are going to ensures the staff will advise you of the latest possible time you should consider booking if you want two courses and the earlier time for three courses. The restaurant knows you are going to a show and everything is geared towards this, but that is not a certainty at an off site restaurant.More people are discovering the Rooftop and coming just to dine which is really nice to see and hopefully a sign that we are, as a nation, returning to pre covid attitudes.So if you fancy a meal out, have dietary limitations of necessity or choice, give the Rooftop a call.
