Saves on the bill. Staff are great. The old fella can be slightly abrupt but that’s his manner he means well. Parking behind for over 80 cars
I recently started dining at Simla after our previous favorite restaurant declined in quality. My party of four ordered different dishes and we all agreed that the food was exceptional and well-seasoned. However, despite the great food, I understand why this restaurant has an average rating. Like other reviewers, I was disappointed by the unfriendly and unsmiling staff. Customer service is just as important as the food itself, and the owner should address the staff's lack of interaction with customers. A simple smile and warm greeting can make a big difference in the overall dining experience.
The food at this restaurant was amazing and the prices were excellent! My brother, who was visiting from Australia, was here for 5 weeks and we all had a wonderful meal together. The only downside was that the staff seemed very unhappy. Despite this, we left a generous tip because the food was so delicious. Unfortunately, no one spoke to us at all and there was no response when we thanked them and said goodnight. It's a shame because the chef is truly talented. Even my granddaughters noticed how rude the staff was. Despite this, we would still return because the food is just too good to miss.
An elderly man served us without a smile, but the food was delicious. However, be prepared to bring your own Tupperware as there is an unexplained charge for it. We only discovered this charge when we questioned it, as it was included with the corkage fee.
We visited to celebrate a family birthday on the strength of a previous visit some years ago. Have to say that we weren't disappointed. We received a lovely welcome when we arrived, and the service was excellent. The food was the standard fair for an Indian restaurant, but it was still excellent. Our 13 year old especially enjoyed the Tandoori Mixed Grill.
