Lindy's Chili Gerties Ice Cream Of Bridgeview

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The food is consistently amazing, and their chili is outstanding. The ice cream is perfect as well. It's truly the best place in the world!

However, I have to express my concern regarding your chili. What I received was more like chili soup! I don't believe you offer chili soup, so I don't think my order was mistaken. The chili had very little substance and was mostly liquid. Recently, I visited the location on 76th and Pulaski, and their chili was actually what I expect—thick, hearty chili, not a soup. It seems that will be where I take my business in the future. I just don’t understand why you would change something that has worked well for so many years.

After paying, I drove home with my order. I should have been suspicious when I took the sundae out of the bag; it was in a plastic container that I had to struggle to open! This was clearly not freshly scooped ice cream topped with warm caramel and fudge; it was obviously pre-packaged. Even though I had that nagging thought, I decided to give it a shot, despite realizing I could have gotten toppings at Tony's for much cheaper than the $10 this sundae cost me—yes, $10 for one turtle sundae! I tasted the whipped cream first, and it had absolutely no flavor, so I scraped it off. The ice cream, caramel, and fudge were all frozen solid, like a brick. Typically, when you get ice cream with hot fudge and caramel, the hot fudge should be melting the ice cream by the time you get home, but not in this case! Everything was still rock hard. It was clear that the entire container—ice cream, fudge, caramel, and whipped cream—had been sitting in a freezer pre-packaged. I took a spoonful of ice cream that had solidified caramel on it. To my dismay, the caramel had a gritty, waxy texture; I could literally feel this waxy grit on my lips, teeth, and tongue! I've been around long enough to recognize that this is what happens to sugary syrups when they break down from age or have been frozen for too long. It was completely disgusting, and I do not recommend this place! This is what happens to businesses that have been around for a long time but have stopped caring about the quality of their food.

Your ice cream is soooo good I love it, but I really miss your guy?s banana nuggets that you put In the ice cream sundaes. I wish you still had those, those were sooo goood as well.

The vanilla ice cream was okay, I ordered a brownie sundae to go. the sundae didn?t come with any nuts like stated on the menu. I also ordered a double hot fudge sundae and it had no hot fudge. Very expensive.
