We also ordered a prime cheesesteak. The steak itself was cooked perfectly, but the sandwich lacked flavor. I expected it to come with the typical cheesesteak toppings, so I was surprised to learn I had to specifically request onions, lettuce, and mayo. On a positive note, the bread used for both sandwiches was exceptional in flavor and texture. I’d like to return to try the Italian cold cut sub and perhaps give the sausage and peppers another shot, making sure to request the sausages be cooked properly this time. As a Jersey girl, I’m still on the hunt for that elusive perfect shore sausage and pepper that seems to have only existed before 1999.

Ernest Son is an excellent choice for breakfast or lunch, whether you're in Brigantine or Atlantic City. A previous reviewer summed it up perfectly— the tomatoes are the size of softballs, likely beefsteaks!

I visited this restaurant to order a cutlet sandwich, and the woman who served me was quite friendly. However, my order was incorrect, though they quickly remade it for me. Unfortunately, I can only give this place two stars for several reasons. My sandwich was soggy, and the breading on the chicken cutlet fell off. Given the price, I expected a larger portion of crispy chicken, not a small serving of soggy meat. Additionally, I found the cleanliness of the place to be concerning. Customers were taking rolls from bags with their bare hands since there were no tongs or wax paper available, which is unacceptable. To make matters worse, one of the staff members preparing deli sandwiches coughed on the sandwich he was making without covering his mouth. Because of these issues, I won’t be returning.

Well it was Our first visit! Butcher, Sandwiches and assorted groceries/veggies. Excellent selection of hoagies and hot/cold sandwiches to go. There are tables out front of store. Save using cash. Nice folks.

The Ernie Special...pause for dramatic effect. What a sandwich! It was packed to the gills with meat, the sharp provolone was perfect, the tomato, oil and oregano perfectly complimented the sandwich. I don't do peppers so don't judge me. Regardless, the sandwich was spectacular and well worth a special trip to try it.
