Went to Winkies with friends for the first time. Welcoming staff in their small but comfortable restaurant. Ordered a medium size cod and chips as recommended because the large is so big. They were right. The medium was large. The fish was excellent. Nice and crispy batter with lovely white tasty fish. The chips were crisp on the outside and soft inner. Perfect. I wasn't left bloated. The best fish and chips I've ever had. One down side is the parking. Shall return soon.
The Best Fish and Chips we've Ever eaten. The fish was so fresh, and cooked to order. You can't come to Brightlingsea without treating yourself to Winkies. Highly Recommended
A week ago, I enjoyed some excellent fish and chips at this restaurant. They were about to close in half an hour, but we still had enough time to eat there. I will definitely return!
Winkies serves the best fish and chips I've ever tasted! The dish is perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. The staff is lovely and creates a wonderful atmosphere. My wife and I find ourselves returning to Winkies every time we visit the United Kingdom. A tip: definitely try the curry sauce—it’s delicious! Overall, exceptional food, service, and friendly smiles all around.
