Living near Seven Dials have often passed this place and curiosity got the better of me. Celebrating the return of my tastebuds after C19 wiped them out for most of August decided to be lazy and get a mid week takeaway. Most old fashioned curry houses serve dry chicken, over sweet sauces and murdered vegetables, but I am always on the look out for a fairly decent cheap hit of a chicken madras. Ordering: simple and straightforward Timing: ready for collection when promised Portion size: Mummy bear; not too big and not too small Taste: bang on. Chicken juicy, vegetables treated with respect, perfect rice and a delicious mint sauce to dunk crispy popadoms which were cooked in fresh oil. Two mains, rice, naan, popadoms, side veg for twenty quid and just round the corner. A great way to spend your disposable income

I thought I was walking into a doctor’s office, but no, it was in fact a takeaway Indian food restaurant. Honestly, the gentleman who took my order was so incredibly friendly, I felt like I’d been ordering takeout from them for years. The food was reasonably priced, plentiful and OK. I LOVE Indian food and this wasn’t the best I’d ever had. I got the Chicken Tikka which was a little too sweet for me. I think they may have added coconut? I’ll probably go back and try something else. I appreciate good customer service and this was the best.
I had delivery from Curry Inn. The Madras sauce was a homogeneous gloop, that only tasted of tomato, and while the Lamb Madras starter was fairly good (only a few dry pieces), the yoghurt dip had the consistency of cheap mayonnaise.
I have been getting Indian takeout from Curry Inn for years. I have yet to find a better curry restaurant in Brighton, or anywhere else for that matter. The only place I have had curry as good as this is in Goa. The staff is extremely friendly and polite, and most importantly, the food is amazing. The dishes are always fresh, and the meat tastes like real meat, not the questionable variety often found at other curry restaurants. They have a food hygiene rating of 5/5, which is very reassuring and evident in the quality of their food. I have never had a bad dish in the 10+ years I have been getting takeout from them.
