The salt and pepper squid was rubbery and lacked flavor, and to make matters worse, the sauce had spilled all over the bag. Avoid this place at all costs!
We decided to go to this restaurant for lunch after being told there was a long wait at Riddle and Finns nearby. The restaurant had a nice little courtyard where we could sit on the nice day. The staff were friendly and gave us prawn crackers and water right away. We ordered various dim sum dishes, with the highlights being the pork buns and duck wontons. We enjoyed our meal with a couple of cold beers. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise and we would definitely return to this restaurant.
When visiting Brighton, our go-to spot for Saturday lunch is Riddle and Finns. On this particular occasion, we arrived a bit late and the wait time for a table was an hour. So, we decided to try out their new venture, the Pan Asian Kitchen, which was just a minute away. We were pleasantly surprised by the stylish decor and excellent service. The food was all freshly cooked and brought out as it was ready, which was fine since we were not in a hurry. The scallops and squid were perfectly cooked, and the communal tables encouraged conversation. We enjoyed the black cod, udon noodles, and stir-fried vegetables. Overall, it was a relaxing and entertaining dining experience. Riddle and Finns will have to impress us to bring us back, especially considering the £50 price tag for two people, including a good wine deal.
