The Better Half - Brighton and Hove

When we waited for a new kocher home to be installed, we decided to go for Sunday dinner. a very disappointing experience, unfortunately. today at 12.30 a.m. we have booked a table for lunch, Sunday first impression well, nicely decorated pub, most of the employees have to welcome. 45 minutes before accepting our food (roasts,) cut in the 2 hours time slot we were allowed. I thought, however, that would be a good sign that eating could be good. However, the time was not necessary because my meat (soaked lamb) was actually inedible; they could see that it was very cheap meat, unsuitable for the roasting, as there was a lot of gristle visible directly through each. I could not cut it or chew it, and I have all my own excellent teeth. the bark of my man was also very hard with much gristle and fat, but he forced himself to eat what he could, as he was very hungry. the food was all lukewarm anyway, as the tellers were cold a basic mistake here.) eating in both cases was stacked high to dress up the very few soggy bratkartoffels underneath. the veg was mostly cauliflower, green red (the latter was tasty.) yorkshire does not splash to write home. as I could not cut or chew through my flesh, I went quietly and politely to the young girl who had taken our order and had ridiculed it from the problem. we agreed that I had the vegetarian option as replacement, as I thought it would not take too long to warm/appear. I was served and it was quite delicious, but the pasty was soggy and appeared uncooked, so again I could not eat this part. I told the staff responsible. they have not reduced the charge for this meal to the half, reflecting the half I had consumed. while this was fair, and the several waiting staff were pleasant, it made a disappointing Sunday afternoon experience and in that did ruin our Sunday. I was happy that we don't have visitors with us, especially our restaurant critic friend. on the basis of this experience, we are unfortunately the opinion that we could not risk coming back into this facility. In summary, it seems here to be a case of style over substance. .Lovely decorating, bad eating offer. I suspect inexperienced/untrained employees in the kitchen this day.

Discovers the better half pub and restaurant during a long walk of brighton along the seafront. a great sound, a beautiful traditional interieur. good selection of food and drinks and the renter very welcoming. let yourself in and pay it.

I was in this pub for a frying before having great results but after my experience in this week, I felt that I had to check. at the arrival (with my older parents from shropshire and sister and family from southampton) we were told that “our...contained table was not available because in our table not even received their food.” we were asked to sit outside (it was a very cold April day) “if they organize the chaos”. after waiting patiently for 15-20 minutes (my parents were frozen) we found a table and sat down. after a long wait for eating we received what can only be described as insensitive roasts. eating was cold, the meat was over to point out that my mother could not cut through the lamb and the bark was mainly gristle and fat. the yorkshire puddings were clearly tante bessie. to tell the workers of the quality of eating, a short, rude answer was given to me on the point, "we try our best." we all left most of our food and on the collection of our teller my mother was quite annoyed with girls that served us. again the answer was very rude, short and passiw aggressiw. we have paid 50% of our food, but in all honesty, I do not feel that this went far enough to apologize for the bad food and service. we will not go back there.

Amazing eating and beautiful staff. visited for a Sunday and roast it was exceptional, 2 vegan options and many meat options also. excellent choice of the side and delicious sticky toffee pudding. really courteous and polite, the staff came and gave us tasty and water. for our dog. very friendly chef came to say hello and to check that we enjoy the food! will soon again, great atmosphere!

Had the pan fried cod in a caper sauce with boiled baby potatoes and mixed green veg. Not only was everything really tasty but also cooked to perfection. All the staff are friendly and go the extra mile to be helpful and make you feel...special.
