I really wanted to love the place, but it was seriously let down by very poor service, verging on rude! I felt neither welcomed nor encouraged to stay, although I’m glad I did, to try the delicious food. I’d love to return, but would hope to attend on a day when the welcome was more friendly and the service less ice cold! It really did ruin the whole experience, which is a great shame, given the beautiful location and tasty food!
Beautiful gardens. Delicious tea and cakes. Lovely people. An absolute gem! It’s round the back of a building with uneven ground which may be challenging for some.
Cannot get a simple order right, asked for a Cappuccino and pot of tea and received a Latte Coffee And Mug of Tea.
A quintessential English tea garden, lovely setting for tea and cake in a beautiful garden, friendly staff
We rather stumbled upon The Grange and were delighted that we did so. We spent an enjoyable hour in the beautiful Lutyens/Jekyll garden, eating a stunning piece of freshly baked cake (lemon curd mascarpone sponge) and drinking tea. Everything feels tranquil, charming and understated; the staff were friendly and very efficient warning us to mind the crafty seagull who was keeping watch over our cake! This is what the English do best.
