St Albans Hotel - Brimbank

There are cheap meals at this hotel. Not a lot of variety in the menu but there is value for money. Good for a quiet night out!

Terrible experience, food was horrible and 1 meal never arrived. Presented receipt but staff still insisted was not ordered. Couldn't possibly have a qualified chef as food was extremely bad.

Do not eat here, the food is atrocious. My husband's "surf n turf" was abysmal....thin piece of steak with a child's serve of chips, a few vegetables and some sorry looking prawns. My veal scallopini bore no resemblance to others that I have eaten in the last 40 years.....the sauce looked like some cornflour had been mixed with water and thrown onto the plate...... The prices were what I would have expected for good quality food.. Shame on this establishment for charging high prices for very, very sub standard food. Even the children found their portions small. Go to Macca's .......you'll get a better feed...lol

We normally eat at their sister restaurant the Deer Park Hotel but for a change we thought we would try this hotel.I had the 300g Porterhouse with Veges,Chips and Pepper sauce and my wife the Reef and Beef which included a 250g Rib Eye and some Garlic Prawns, chips with Mushroom sauce. Both Steaks were ordered to be cooked medium but unfortunately and frustratingly both were cooked close to well done. Im not one to return meals back to to the kitchen. There was not the slightest hint of any pinkness (medium cooked) in both the steaks which resulted in them being slightly tough.My wife was quite disappointed in her Rib Eye.

My wife isn't a fan of dining at this pub but last Wednesday evening she had to attend a work event and with their rewards card (Monty) on Wednesday nights main meals are half price.So as far as I was concerned it was an offer too good to refuse.I had the 300g rump chips, veges and pepper sauce for half price @ $13 ($26 normal price) I also enjoyed a pint of Furphys beer which was only $6 on a current promo. This is a lovely fruity beer.Steak was cooked as requested medium rare and was nice and tender. Quite a good dining experience this time but venue can be a bit up and down with meals.
