Pig 'N' Whistle King George Square

Came here for dinner on a weekend evening. It was nice to walk in without a booking. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately my burger was disappointing???? The meat was dry and it wasn't enjoyable to eat. The chips were the best part of the meal.

Best steak, salad and mash I have ever had. Steak was seasoned and perfectly cooked salad was fresh and had lots of tomatoes not just one or two like other places, onions in the salad were picked and amazing and salad dressing was great. The mash was also seasoned and so creamy every aspect of the dish was great and delicious I couldn't fault one thing. I will happily drive from my house which is over an hour away to eat here.

I am writing this review as I am walking out the place. We spent almost $90 for a meal that we barely even touched. Steaks were horribly overcooked (If you they don't know the difference between rare, medium rare, medium and well done, perhaps they shouldn't have steak on their menu) the other sandwich we ordered was filled with disgusting dry meat and cold chips on the side. Waited almost hour for this horrible experience. Please please save your night, money and appetite with 100 times better restaurants only 2 minutes down the street.

Great spot in the hub of Brisbane, a variety of classic British pub meals to choose from. I tried the beer battered barramundi and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The beer batter was very crispy and tasted divine. The presentation was phenomenal, the fish and chips are wrapped in a newspaper printed paper which took me back to UK, I would definitely recommend it and go back for more! We also had their rump steak and fish and chips from the kids meal.

I'm suprised at the poor reviews here!  We visited for lunch on Saturday. The staff were great, chatty and helpful. I ordered the rump and my wife had the fillet steak. My steak was a perfect med/rare and my wife's was slightly over med/rare. However, no dramas! Still tasted good with fresh chips and an acceptable stock salad. Prices were on par with other pub type restaurants and not overly expensive for the CBD. Only complaint, if you can call it a complaint, is that American mustard is not Hot English mustard! (But thanks for your efforts!) Overall, very good for a 'pubgrub' steak with good service.
