I expected more of a load that has been there for a while.
Have been here for years, new owners have to be. the proportions and quality of the food have declined significantly. had not tasted that I was looking for.
Really cheap and affordable food! The baba ganouj was tangy and flavourful. The chicken shawarma was really great too! This chicken was so moist and tasty. I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!
I've walked by this place dozens of times but never stopped as it's curb appeal is lacking. It's usually got a descent crowd of patrons so I stopped on a night that was not so busy. The mixed plate had beef, chicken, and lamb that were all freshly cooked and tasty. The sides of salad, vine leaves, and dips were all fresh as well. The staff were friendly enough that the overall experience was pleasant enough that I'll likely return.
Arabella is another one of those restaurants we have walked by a number of times without ever entering. Tonight we ordered a takeaway lamb shawarma from here to have with some gozleme from just across the road at the West End market. The service was amateurish, but considering that we were only doing takeaway it didn't really matter. The lamb meat was cooked on a flat plate next to the rotisserie that was cooking some chicken, and was served with sumac onions and tahini. A sweet brown sauce that I am not familiar with was also drizzled on the meat. The meat was cooked reasonably well and was a reasonable quantity, however the sweet brown sauce did not suit the dish very well. The onions were tasty enough and there could have been more tahini. Overall, it was okay but not greatly satisfying. Perhaps, some of the chicken from the rotisserie would have been better. In any case, we'll be walking by quite a few more times before thinking about dropping in again.
