Feedback gevenIt's a past since we visited this facility and last night we finally managed it. enough to say we were treated to a culinary joy, the devastation menu was simply wonderful, presentation, taste and content first class. a complicated use of classic. ingredients and a crescendo of aromen and taste. antoine and his team are really gifted. the service has been staged by odara with ease and efficiency professionally that only one profi can afford. the pace was just perfect. the wine list was interesting, good priced and balanced. the restaurant was busy with a private function on the top floor, but they could not notice it. great to see that both owners (mary and phil) also share their expertise and sociality with many diners. a must make experience.
We haven't been in the Ecco-Bistro for some time. this visit reminded us of how good the food and the service are. we visited in the frame of a set function, including wine tasting and the restaurant has our food preferences. all the foods were fresh and tasty with unusual. crumble and season, leave the lingering taste in our mouth. that is a restaurant that we will return to.
Despite the possibility, but a set 5 curs menu that should simplify the service, we received nothing for 40 minutes when we ever received 1 piece of bread with truffle butter. although only 2 of the courses are served hot, it took 3 hours to get the final course. the restaurant was full and there were only 3 waiters who worked hard, but simply did not serve all the courses, let alone fill water glasses. the quality of eating is in order, but we made us feel irritated and do not go back.
We had 23 friends and family to house too day for my man 70th birthday and philip johnson catering made the day absolutely perfect with their beautiful eating. all staff philip, josh, gary mary were so friendly and helpful and...Nothing was too much effort for them to make sure our catering experience with them was a success. the birthday dinner was a real hit, and my husband and our guests had a nice, happy day on the day was made more pleasant by the Ecco staff and the beautiful food prepared by philip josh. all our guests were so impressed by their meals – no complaining of 23 people! the day ran so smooth (and so fast) – nothing was too difficult for maria or gary – and I appreciate their help throughout the day. I would recommend philip johnson catering for those who entertain in their own house without the stress of catering for many people.
This was our first visit to E'cco for many years, we have been regulars at Phillip Johnson's restaurants since Le Bronx in the 1980's. The food was wonderful and elegant. Our table in the more sunken part of the dining room was pleasant. Service was...prompt and we ordered a negroni, which took 20 minutes and arrived after the entrees and the first wine match, which defeated the point of a cocktail. The degustation was treat filled, the smoked butter could be eaten by the tub, the king prawn with yuzu and turnip perfectly cooked, the fried cauliflower was a surprise standout in terms of taste and was exceptional. The short rib was small but unami packed and intense, the whipped camembert course had a wonderful funkiness and was the favourite of the meal. It finished with blood orange parfait which was also great. The wine list was solid, but we went with the wine pairing and the standard was high and the wines well matched. The service consistent after the first glitch with the negroni and for which there was an apology re the delay. However, this shaky start couldn't detract from a night of delicious food that reminded us of just how talented this culinary team are. We can't wait to return and will forsake a cocktail next time.
