I guess I gave it a 4/5 instead of 5/5 because I generally feel a bit sick after from all the sugar!
Have always loved Krispy Kreme and received a free donut today by joining the Inner Circle and the glazed donut from Krispy Kreme is a classic that I always love????????
Personally I love Krispy Kreme doughnuts. They have a special quality about them that keeps you coming back for more. Maybe it's the soft, gooey, fluffy centres & that crispy coat. All I know is they taste pretty good & I always get a couple when shopping at the Myer Centre in town
Krispy Kreme - Brisbane CBD. While it is a huge deal overseas, Krispy Kreme as a whole has not made too much of an impact Down Under. Mostly hiding in 7/11 stores and even annexing with Wild Bean Coffee in some parts, a true store of Krispy Kreme is a rarity to find. That is a pity, as they do wonderful doughnuts. It will certainly vary with the time and place going, but when I went to the one near Queen Street bus station the service was really lovely. There was not an ounce of the surliness that fast food places are associated with having. My order was their "Sweet Buzz". For approximately $7, there is the choice of small coffee (extra shot adds 50c - the double-shot cappuccino strikes again) & any two doughnuts. They had a couple of lime-based flavours at the time, which was one of my choices - key lime pie. The other doughnut I got was the apple crumble. Both choices were filled with thick, flavoured creamy goodness; and not just a spoonful of it - the dough was virtually merely an encasing. Throughout the body of the sweet, there was the flavouring and glaze which was simply tasty. There was a sourness of lime to the key lime flavour and a hard coating of icing on top. How much it replicated the famous Southern dessert I cannot make comparisons, not being too familar with the said dessert. The apple crumble had a generous sprinkling of cinammon crumble on top complimenting the custard in the middle. Much to my surprise, the coffee here is also very good. It is accessible to novices of coffee who might find robust blends too overwhelming, plus those who know their basics of a good coffee will not be put off either. The texture is creamy and smooth with the acceptable coffee house price. You can count me as impressed by this place; I already knew the doughnuts were good and the coffee can now be chalked up. A guaranteed place for the famous duo.
