Delicious ramen! Cosy seating. Great service. Really enjoyed my experience at this groovy little restaurant. Will be back for more ramen and sushi very soon!
This restaurant is one of the reasons I decided to sign up and write a review. I've been around West End for a long time and many of the places we used to enjoy have sadly been closing down lately due to the number of new cashed up restaurants opening. I would say this is one of those; two of us attended and had different dishes, we were excited to have a Ramen/Noodle shop open and had both their Tonkotsu Ramen and Prawn Tempura Udon (I can't see the latter in the menu anymore though). The Tonkotsu which we assumed would be their signature dish was extremely average, there wasn't really as much of a Pork based taste as there was just plain overly-salty broth, noodles were unimpressive as well, Pork also very average. Nothing to be excited about, even if it wasn't bad you have to consider that their price is relatively high. If you want good ramen PLEASE stick to Hakataya in any of their shops, it's so infinitely better in every sense: taste, quality, quantity (simply ask for free kaedama) and price. This is NOT what you want for your first Ramen experience. The Tempura however was horrible, it was served for whatever reason within the soup, so it was fully soggy instead of crispy as you'd expect from other shops; considering it's a Noodle restaurant you can see why this makes no sense. It wasn't really particularly tasty either, rather bland soup in contrast. Their Tempura overall pales in comparison to the one you can get at Kadoya in the CBD (and it's not like Kadoya's is fantastic). And really for us what made this a bad experience is that we ended up with quite an expensive bill for what was super mediocre food, we could've honestly been just as happy (if not more) going to Jackpot noodles (Yeah right?) right down the road. However the herd mentality this place has means we often see it packed, that's why it's depressing to see good restaurants closing up doors and the 'hip and new' being successful with mediocre food. In regards to the environment/ambience, really it's not that great. Yes it's newer, more modern, more hip, because it opened very recently compared to almost everything else in West End. Personally we felt it was very packed, very tight place for the number of covers the place handles, it's not really that comfortable; you have to remember it's one of the smaller locales around that street, this same size means that it's very loud as the sound has nowhere else to go, relatively tough to keep conversation with someone at times, of course that's personal preference.

You need to be pretty brave to open another Japanese restaurant in extremely crowded west end Japanese precinct. Five restaurants and counting. Misohapi has successfully filled a void in the market by producing excellent ramens and keeping the kitchen open after 9pm, (unheard of in Brisbane). I've been there 3 times in the past 2 months.
