I've dined here regularly for several years; their tonkotsu ramen is one of the best in Brisbane, the food quality is consistently good, the staff are always lovely, and the ambience is very nice. br/ br/ The only gripe I had with my last visit was that it took 40 minutes for our food to be served. I'm sure this was an anomaly since their service is usually quite fast 10 minutes), but I feel like the staff should have made an effort to update customers about their orders after the 30-minute mark. br/ br/ I still love this place I'll definitely be returning, but I'd suggest booking in advance if you'd prefer not to wait!
I check the pictures on zomato and look forward to the noodle with scallop but it turns out they don’t have it for quite a while. A little bit disappointed but the noodle is good.
Yum!! Love added options to allow you choice alter your ramen I.e less salt in the broth friendly service and really good value for soul warming ramen.
Lunch catch up with siblings is always great and someone suggested we catch up here at one of Taro's ramen venues. This place is deceptive when looking from the outside but once you open the door and enter you find ourselve looking at the high ceilings. The space feels and look big, like nothing you expect from a ramen house.<br/ <br/ There is ample seating, so we are headed towards a booth and take our seats. The table was still a little dirty from the previous sitting, but wasnt that bad that we didnt notice. The staff member come over and gave us our drinks and offered to reclean the table.<br/ <br/ Ordering is simple, look at the menu on the retouch screen, each item has a description of each dish. Very similar to edo sushi. But the pricing, is on the high end for dishes. Like wife ordered the miso ramen and went medium this one was $20 or so.<br/ <br/ I went for the fire ramen, 2 others were another miso and special (Hawaiian ramen everything), gyoza and octopus balls as sides to start.<br/ <br/ Not long after ordering, sides arrive quickly, taste wise, nothing special just your normal snacking meal.<br/ <br/ When our ramen arrives, they look and make us hungry.<br/ The fire ramen I received had 1 piece of pork and 1/2 an egg, this place does not offer free noodle refills as most places have. They charge $2.50 for such, but considering it is west end, maybe they had to incorporate that factor.<br/ <br/ In saying so, my ramen did not need an extra noodle, the broth was rich and thick, but lacking spice. There was a red colour, but no heat like what you get when you add fresh chilli to pho. I would have like to have 1 more piece of pork, as most time just end up with noodles and stock after half way. It was a nice bowl of ramen today, and the others also enjoyed theirs.<br/ <br/ There wasnt any real interactions with staff, they sit you at the table, you order meal off the tablet. They deliver the meals, tidy table then you pay.<br/ <br/ Today, we had an issue with the bill, for some reason we were charged $300, which was too much. We worked out be appropriately $100, so after she realised that the previous bill was not cleared had to go through what we ordered. Took some time, was a shock to see, but cleared up in the end.<br/ <br/ If in the area again, at a night sitting maybe might drop by again. Parking is horrible in and around the city.
Rainy Brisbane weather calls for some soup. We were on the hunt for pho but ended up with ramen. We’ve heard great things about Taro’s so decided to give it a go this time. Menu is limited and kept simple, which is how I like it best.<br/ <br/ We ordered the shoyu ramen, simple in taste but rich in flavours! We ordered a large bowl with extra noodles, which took our one ramen order up to $20. Whilst tasty, it was a tad bit pricey for a simple bowl of ramen.<br/ <br/ Taste 5/5<br/ Value 3/5<br/ Average 4/5
