Midweek Roast on a Wednesday.... Certainly not disappointed, Generous portions Good Ale Great Service. We are local and use the pub when we can.

Of us went to the Fox last night for a Christmas dinner. The room and the table looked delightfully festive, the food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. Possibly the best Christmas dinner our group has ever had! Well done Lorraine and all...the staff. We will be back!!

I have just had another lovely Sunday roast at The Fox, which is a firm favourite of ours and also many of our friends. We particularly like The Fox as one of us is a vegetarian and there is always a choice of two different...veggie nut roasts alongside three meat choices. The roast meals come with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables and extra sides of cauliflower cheese and honey-roast parsnips are also available, all beautifully cooked and served by helpful staff. I can also recommend the smoked salmon and crayfish salad and delicious home-cooked vegetarian curries which are often on the menu. This pub is most certainly a gem on Mersea Island and definitely worth a visit for a meal or just a sociable drink,

Eight of us ate here today for our Christmas lunch. Some had the three courses and others the two. The food was simply outstanding, from the Complimentary Amuse Bouche Noel, to the Starters, Mains to the desserts, then topped off with complimentary coffee and beautifully...home made mince pies. Amazing Prices and outstanding service from the staff. I thought it would be very nice but was simply blown away by the quality and friendliness. Well done you guys, absolutely FANTASTIC! I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It is lovely with a cosy bar, good ale, and nice staff. The outside areas are great for drinking, eating, and for the kids to play. I will definitely be returning to this place.
