After moving into the neighborhood and spotting this place I decided to try it out a few times. The first time the empanadas tasted good but the price didn't seem fair for the size of the empanadas (compared to other Colombian spots I've tried, the empanadas sold here tend to be much smaller). The one time my fiance wanted to get a whole meal the rice tasted like it was reheated from the day before, the beans no seasoning, and the steak was pretty sad. The breads they sell are okay, sometimes they are fresh sometimes not really. My biggest pet peeve is the owner likes to use the microwave which just makes me scratch my head, honestly it ruins the taste of the food.I haven't been back in over a year, especially since i bought an empanada that was beef but the outer crust tasted sweet which threw me off. Again the size was not worth the $2 and change each empanada cost. The lady seems so sweet but the food isn't that great unfortunately. Either with time she will improve or it will continue to go downhill.
I ordered steak with onions rice. The steak and sauce was too salty, the rice was instant (like uncle bens) mixed with frozen vegetables i can tell from the way it taste. I love Spanish rice in general and you will know if it’s the real deal or not. I will never come back to this place. Such a waste of money. $12 for a meal that I couldn’t finish, too bad i had to throw it away.
