Firstly we were shown to a table just in from the entrance to the restaurant which I wasn't over happy with but decided not to complain about it. . The meal was a carvery but there was no sign of anyone to serve it. I asked the waitress was the procedure was and she said she'd fetch the chef and he arrived a few minutes later. There were two choices of meat, either beef or turkey and a limited choice of veg. The beef was tough. All the food was lukewarm but at least the plates were hot. All in all quite poor and we won't go back.
I met a friend for lunch in this lovely old building. We had a good choice of hot meals or snacks and drinks. It was reasonably priced and the food was of a good standard. Whilst we were there several people came in for afternoon tea and it looked delicious so we will be returning
First time visiting, and had an amazing lunch time carvery. Couldn't fault it and it was definitely the best we had ever eaten. Beef was cooked to perfection which was very impressive considering most places butcher it. Alison was incredibly friendly, helpful and made the meal even more pleasant.
I contacted Drayton old lodge numerous amount of times via telephone and email as I wanted to ask if they would donate a prize for a charity event. I was informed someone would get back to me when I spoke to the venue but I didn't hear anything. I understand that some places aren't able to support charity events but to not get back to someone who has made the effort on several occasions is just rude! I feel that Drayton Old Lodge is a let down and wouldn't recommend the venue.
We enjoyed a fabulous Sunday Lunch to celebrate my mother in laws 90th birthday. As we were a party of 17 we were given a private room. The events manager was very attentive to ensure the youngest member of our party (aged 20 months), the birthday girl and all the guests enjoyed their meal bringing us extra gravy and chocolates at the end. Although portions were not enormous we were too full to eat birthday cake. All courses were beautifully presented and as there is a 2 or 3 course meal deal, were good value for money. In fact we decided that we should try to make it a regular event. Well done
