The Filly Inn - Brockenhurst

Recommended by a friend for the sunday roast. decides and booked within an hour a table. beautiful location, beautiful furnishings and ambiente, personal were nice enough and good furnishings. everything ran floating wein was decent, the starter was in order. but the sunday roast itself was simply a pure blande. sad to say that seemed veg as if it were from the freeze cabinet, the heavy was tasteless and the bark content was small. my wife and I look at the bright side of men, but we couldn't help but look at us and go what a shame. we gave the waitress some feedback for a very nice place, I'm quite disappointed. sadly, she heard that the meat was fat. it was like a conversation that wasn't even worth it, so we paid our bill. £70! and left. I'm sorry, but very unlikely that he'll return

Nice varied menu, food was really nice, staff were excellent -helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them.

Lovely pub setting with a delicious sounding menu, we went in with high hopes. However, the food was of poor quality and no flavour. I had the butternut squash and sage ravioli to start, the pasta was very thickly rolled and there was no flavour to it. My partner had the gnocchi bites which were over cooked and far too many for a starter. Unfortunately our mains were not much better. My partner had the double beef burger which he likened the burgers to frozen burgers and said he’d had better at a football match. I had the buttermilk chicken burger with chimchurri sauce. The chicken was of poor quality and not much of it, the sauce had no flavour at all. Due to our poor previous courses we declined desert. Such a shame as the pub has lots of promise, great setting, fantastic outside area, really nicely laid out inside and the staff were attentive but the food let it down.

Very nice pub, which we have been to a number of times. The only criticism we have is that not everything was available on the menu which, for a very quiet Thursday lunchtime was surprising. Otherwise very pleasant.

A super meal in a lovely room. Excellent friendly and quick service. A must visit pub. Well done and thank you.
