Old Joe's Cabin - Brockton

We opted to have lunch at this restaurant during our trip and wanted to dine outside. The location was perfect as they had a lovely, peaceful terrace at the back. We ordered the fish and chips, as well as a hot roast beef sandwich. The fish was overcooked and difficult to eat, lacking in actual fish meat. The roast beef in the sandwich was delicious with lots of meat, but both dishes came with frozen French fries that were not very good. The service was friendly but extremely slow. We waited for our meals for over 20 minutes.

For years, my friends and I used to visit the same restaurant every Friday night until the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to switch to virtual dinners. After sixteen FaceTime meals, we finally decided to venture out to Old Joe's Cabin for our first in-person dining experience in months. To our delight, the evening was simply wonderful. The management had implemented numerous safety precautions at the location, making us feel secure. All servers were masked and patrons were required to wear masks when not at their tables. The updated menu was easy to clean and our cutlery was well-packaged. Our server, Sydney, was as charming as ever, making us feel as though the world was back to normal despite the slight inconvenience of masks. To other restaurant owners, I would like to say that most people appreciate the efforts made to protect their health and are willing to adhere to stricter rules during this pandemic.

Every time I passed by this restaurant on my way to the hotel, it was always bustling with customers! I decided to give it a try and ended up dining here three times during my week-long stay. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is friendly and quick - simply lovely. The pasta bolognese that I ordered each time tasted just like a homemade meal from my mother's kitchen! It was so delicious that I couldn't bring myself to try anything else, although I did notice other tempting dishes being served at neighboring tables. I also tried the barley and kernel soup, which was hearty and flavorful. One day, I ordered a piece of fish and fries to go, and was delighted to find that the fish was generously sized and the bread was homemade and fluffy. The tartar sauce had a fantastic flavor. The prices were very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. I am already planning a trip to the area just so I can dine at this restaurant with my partner. I couldn't stop raving about the food! I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all the time.

I met a friend here for lunch. the special, a steak sandwich was good and the service was great. good location to meet a friend or group.
