We used Sweet Life for a recent conference, sweets were fabulous and the sandwiches were amazing. Nice variety...Well done, great work... ?
Christmas shortbread cookies were raw in the middle. Tasted like uncooked flour. Very disappointed.
It's hard to believe the glowing reviews from 2020 and before; the place must have taken a tremendous drop in quality. I have been about three times in the last two months because the location was convenient but have decided I will never be back. The cafe is strictly take-out, but this is fine because the service is always brutal. You will spend a long time standing around, next to a big TV displaying you on four different camera feeds. When someone does come, pray you get the disengaged, bored man and not the sour, irritable woman (I believe it's a husband-and-wife combo). The woman always has an attitude of it being a major inconvenience for her to have to serve you. She will be rude and deal with you like pulling a tooth. Any questions about their menu will result in a silent point to their menu sign. The place has a gift for making you feel unwelcome. The coffee is fine: normal drip coffee with nothing bad or fancy about it. The sandwiches are a little boring, but they do the job. The desserts aren't bad. If you can get in, get your treats and get out it may be worth it for you. I can't say it was for me. Overall, the place would offer a convenient, perfectly serviceable lunch if not for the consistently terrible service. If I could show up, stand outside in the snow and wind, shove my money through a slot and get my food dropped to me on the floor through a chute, it would be a far more warm and enjoyable experience than actually having to go inside the place.
The owner of this business is a hypocrite known to bully other small businesses owners who operate potentially competitive establishments.
