I got the special and it was cooked to perfection, it was the best rib made in many and my friend got a steak that was also cooked as he wanted. large atmosphere would definitely recommend. great for a Sma meeting or for a bigger group.
Last Saturday night we held a surprise 50th anniversary dinner/party for my parents at Tall Ships Grille with 25 guests. As my siblings and I live in three different cities in two different countries, everything had to be organized remotely. The owner and I had many phone and e mail conversations, from which an absolutely superb event transpired. He was extremely tolerant of my naive questions, and the result was a wine reception followed by a seated three course meal (with three entree options) about which every guest raved. Entrees were expertly prepared and delivered piping hot. Service was absolutely ideal attentive but not intrusive. The Food and Beverage manager (Robert) stopped by regularly and was able to expertly modify timing of courses and some food requests on the fly. We used the private room upstairs which has a stunning view of the river and its own bar, and had two dedicated servers to attend to every need. I felt that pricing was extremely fair for the quality of the food and service that we received, and I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again the next time I am in town.
We were greated at the door by what appeared to be the manager and were made to feel very welcome. The dining area is bright, clean, spacoius, has attractive deco and views, fits right in with the surroundings and is what we expected for the price . The tables are spaced out, the chairs are comfortable, the tableware was clean and good quality. Our waitress was professional and pleasant company, but never asked if the meals were to our liking. The wedge salad was bland without bacon, chives and diced tomatoes. The steaks and vegatables were a little overcooked while the fries were under cooked. Nonetheless, the main courses had a nice presentation, were tasty and filling. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we'll go back for another try.
Everything was exceptionally bland. The Caesar’s we ordered had no taste, no spices, just watered down soda gun mix. We tried the club and beef sandwich with soup the soup tasted liked boiled carrot water again no taste. The beef sandwich was just meh as was the club. Overall: if you have health restrictions that require you not to taste anything eat here!
After waiting 20 minutes to be served, we decided to leave. The restaurant was not busy, maybe less than half of tables filled. Waitresses and management did not even acknowledge us. Upon leaving, the host wished us a good night, not realizing that he had seated us a mere 20 minutes before. He continued chatting with a group of coworkers gathered by the host station. Always like to support local, but we were so disappointed by our experience tonight.
