The house was nice and the accusation so comfortable. I especially loved the decoration of the master bedroom! The addition of the living room was great and meant that we had to cool somewhere at the end of a long day. It was also practical if we could not find somewhere for lunch, so we could get pieces and boobs from the store and had to eat somewhere. Breakfast was great, we loved the fresh bread and homemade granola. We also enjoyed the homemade treats every afternoon the Bakewell Cupcake was to die. Gregor and Ruth were so friendly and welcoming, even checking, we would have managed to get away well after the ferry drama. Special mention to Bonnie, who was a very good girl and gave good pats.
My partner and I received a voucher to stay Ferghan Mhor from a relative and had never visited Arran. The B
This is such a great place for a short (or long! Holiday on Arran: The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet place next to a beautiful beach and at the beginning of many of the most beautiful coastal and mountain hikes on the island. The food they serve for breakfast is divine, both the Scottish fry up and their pancakes and the portions they serve you are very generous and will receive you for a decent part of the day. The rooms are very small, but also very nice, only enough room for a double bed, a small fridge and something to sit and make tea (a kettle and tea bag are on every room and they bring you some cake every day! The bathroom is divided between the two rooms they have, which I don't have at all (but that could upset some people). The hosts who operate Ferghan Mhor are also very friendly and nice and will give you great recommendations on how to spend your day. Arran in general is a very vegan friendly island and perfect for a weekend escape or even a longer vacation.
This place is simply amazing with the most friendly owners! We had the most delicious Scottish breakfast in the morning, full of different flavors (the vegan heggis and tofu cubes were our favorites). Everything was home-made even the haggis and potatoes! If you do not like cooked hearty breakfast, there is also the possibility to get pancakes, and there is breakfast on the counter that you can take, such as fruits and cereals homemade granola (which we had and it was delicious, they have even made almond free granola for us for allergies). Our little treat we got in the evening was also really delicious, we had an empire biscuit, and there is plenty of tea in the bedroom. Honestly, we cannot praise this place enough. It is so peaceful and beautiful, you will probably have the time of your life. We loved the personal note of the B
I had such a fantastic experience at this restaurant that I almost don't want to share it with anyone else so I can keep it to myself! The location was stunning, right next to the sea with a beautiful beach just a short walk away. The house itself was charming and the accommodations were incredibly comfortable. I particularly loved the decor in the main bedroom. The addition of the sitting room was a great touch, providing a relaxing space to unwind after a busy day. It also came in handy when we couldn't find a lunch spot - we could pick up some items from the shop and enjoy them there. The breakfast was exceptional, with fresh bread and homemade granola being particular highlights. The homemade treats in the afternoon were a delightful touch, with the Bakewell cupcake being a standout. Gregor and Ruth were incredibly welcoming and friendly, even checking in to make sure we had safely made it after a ferry mishap. And a special shoutout to Bonnie, who was an absolute sweetheart and provided plenty of affectionate pets.
