The food took forever to arrive and when it did, it was meager portions, especially for a Korma. We used a 2 for 1 deal with Meerkat, but even with that discount, it would have been more cost-effective to visit our usual spot in Bromley. When it came time to pay, the server carelessly tossed the card machine on the table and went to drink his beer. I've never encountered such lackadaisical service. Additionally, don't fall for the online menu pricing as they charge significantly more for dining in. There are plenty of superior dining options in Bromley, so I would recommend avoiding this establishment.
We have visited this restaurant three times in the past five weeks and we absolutely love it. The decor is great, the food is superb, and the atmosphere and service are lovely. Bringing your own alcohol and enjoying their selection of soft drinks and ice is perfect, as you can have exactly what you want to drink.
Just got back from dinner with my friend at Raj Moni, Bromley. I don’t write as many reviews as I should but I really had to share our experience, I booked via their website but got no confirmation because the app wasn’t working properly, so I called to make sure they had my reservation and the fact I was using the Meerkat app, all was fine, we walked in to an empty restaurant and was told we could sit anywhere we liked, the server walked over to my friend and asked if she used face book or insta as she had her phone in her hand and she said she used facebook and he asked her to search the restaurant, even telling her how to spell it, he clicked the restaurant saying that’s the one and liked the page! We joked that we should do the liking after our meal! He asked what drinks we would like and we ordered 2 diet Cokes, 1 was poured and then there was a problem, there was only 1, I said that fine have you got pepsi max, yes was the reply and a sprite was brought to the table, after explaining that I was diabetic and the rice and bread was pushing my luck the only sugar free choice was sparkling water, I was fine with that even though a bottle was £5. We was asked if we wanted poppadum and we said yes please, we was told we were getting 4, not asked how many we wanted, it was suggested we had a mixed starter, and he would make it for 2, so I reminded him we had the meerkat app and we would have 2 mixed platters, on ordering our mains we wanted a butter chicken and a chicken korma, we was asked if we wanted onion baji but we ordered saag aloo and was going to share a naan and a rice, to which we was told they are very small and not enough to share, on brining the mains to the table (including onion bajii) the bowl with flaked almonds on top was set on the table and we was told that was butter chicken, and the other was the korma, as far as im aware korma has almonds and coconut in and butter chicken should be a tomato based sauce, in all reality there was very little difference in the flavour of the meals so we ate them and they wasn’t horrible, we had a lot of rice left over and naan bread too. With the loud conversation, pushy attitude, the coughing, sniffing, keeping on mentioning they have to make money somewhere, playing you don’t need to be perfect videos loudly on his phone we actually felt quite uncomfortable, we laughed a lot at the very weird situation we found ourselves paying for and left as quickly as we could, not paying a service charge and kinda begrudging what we did pay, we have chalked it up to experience and will never forget our visit to Raj Moni, we will never go back and will certainly tell anybody that asked that they shouldn’t go there either.
A large group of us ate in the Raj Moni last Saturday after golf. It is BYOB. But there is a Tesco round the corner that stocks a good choice of beers to go with a curry. The staff are happy to put your beers in the fridge and provide chilled beer glasses. The food was superb. The South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken was one of the best I’ve had. And some of the others raved about the Chicken Tikka Dhansak. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier, even though we may have been a little bit loud and boisterous. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning very soon.
I arrived with a friend for a celebration meal. It was around 9.15 pm The restaurant was empty and we decided to leave and find somewhere else. The staff persuaded us to stay and said there was plenty of time to enjoy our meal and there was no rush etc.... They told us to buy our drink from an off license across the road. My friend went to do this. Suddenly all the food arrived together starters , papads and mains. We had hardly started our food and the staff started looking at us as if they were waiting for us to go making us feel really uncomfortable. We hadn't even got half way thru or even finished a beer. In the end we had to pack the food and take it with us. The food was nothing special and the bill was totally overpriced. We were charged £5 for having one small beer corkage fee) that we had to rush and were charged for more papads than we asked for and for each pickle that accompanied them. It was rushed, rude, and a totally unpleasant experience. They really persuaded us to stay and then made us rush and feel completely unwelcome. Never again !!
