Couldn't eat anything as they said they couldn't accommodate my food allergy. Drinks were ok. Service was normal, but at least they were honest about not being able to have a non contaminated surface in their kitchen interns of my allergen. EastWest always consistently delivers great food, drinks, and service. Their grilled short ribs are one of our favorite dishes, similar to galbi/kalbi, which not many other Birmingham restaurants have, and their Thai lettuce wraps are stupid good.

Like others have said it is quite loud inside. The soft shell crab bao buns were to die for. I’ll be back for those. We also had the Mongolian beef rice bowl and the tempura shrimp rice bowl. Both were excellent.

The meats were good, but I'm not a fan of sweet and yum yum sauces which is in alot of their dishes. Plus it's a bit pricey.

Chic little Asian bistro in downtown Birmingham. Went for a dinner out with friends on a Friday night, and was fairly busy. No trouble with a reservation, though. Staff were friendly, and food was ready fairly quickly. Be advised, the acoustics of the dining area are not great, and it can get very loud.Ordered the osaka spritz, teriyaki chicken rice bowl, smoked pork belly bao, coconut bread pudding, and chcocolate torte. All were very good, though not quite worth their prices in our opinion. The cocktail had good strength, though, and the arepa-like bao worked well!
