Wu Er (WOW Barbecue) - Brookline

Our visit to this restaurant was underwhelming. The appetizers were frozen, the drinks were served one at a time with long intervals, despite our group of six, and they were unable to make a dirty martini.

This restaurant offers traditional flavors from western and northern China, with meats and vegetables grilled with cumin, salt, and red pepper. They also have delicious noodle dishes. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and unhurried, making it a great place to catch up with friends. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

The food was salty and spicy, even when ordered at the mildest level of spiciness.

Great food and our server was OUTSTANDING ! He was attentive, charming and helpful!

This was our first visit to Wu Er, and we were pleasantly surprised (although the small sign outside might make it easy to miss at night). Despite the bustling atmosphere, my wife and I had a cozy private booth to ourselves. Being Chinese, my wife and I were adventurous with our food choices. The lamb kidney was outstanding and the crab special was also very tasty. The only downside was that the food was a bit too salty, but hopefully they will adjust in the future. The waiter was friendly and attentive, likely learning from their sister location. We are excited to return and try the Peking Duck (note: call a day in advance) and bring our kids along too. We think they will enjoy the skewers.
