Ma-n-pop Soul Food - Brooklyn

The food I ordered was not bad, but it wasn't great either, and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I definitely won't be ordering this combination again. The turkey wings were dry and needed more seasoning, the salmon croquettes were too salty, and the collard greens were tasteless. On the bright side, I absolutely loved the decor; the restaurant is super cute and has a cozy vibe. If the food were better, I would definitely recommend Ma-n-Pop for a nice lunch date, or I would suggest trying a different menu item.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is quite inviting, with R&B and soul classics from the mid-1900s playing softly in the background. The walls are adorned with various pieces of memorabilia, adding to the charm. It’s evident that this is a family-run establishment, which I appreciate. The shrimp were fresh and seasoned nicely, while the mac and cheese was decent, though not remarkable. Unfortunately, the string beans were the least enjoyable part of my meal; they were quite soggy and lacked flavor. The service could use some improvement—perhaps they should consider hiring additional waitstaff. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but there are definitely areas that could be enhanced.

I absolutely adore this place! If you're looking for genuine auntie vibes, this is the spot. Sure, it might not be the most efficient, but honestly, there are plenty of corporate soul food places if that’s what you’re after. Here, you get delicious food at a fantastic price in a relaxed, authentic setting. Just love it!

I had a mixed bag experience. The service was great very friendly and kind. The wait for the food was pretty long (and even longer for a man who called ahead for food). The two dine in chairs were both broken. The pork chop dinner (with mashedpotatoes, yams, and cornbread) was alright but not necessarily great. They DO accept credit cards (despite a cash only sign). Iwould be curious to try their breakfast selections.

Finally got food 55 mins after ordering and it's very good. Original 1 star review: lady working behind the counter tells me it's gonna be 30 more minutes after I've already waited 20 mins, and I need to wait outside? Even tho there's no line ornothing? Not even busy in there.. why u ask a customer to go wait outside in the july heat?
