On the downside, the red pasta was excessively salty, the balsamic broccoli was too heavy, and the manager checked on us not to see how we were enjoying our meal, but rather to hasten us out to accommodate the next table, despite us spending $400 for two people. Update: I went back for a second chance, and the experience was much improved. I tried the artichoke appetizer and roasted red peppers with ricotta. For the main courses, I had the occhi and rigatoni. Perhaps there was a different chef this time; I'm not sure, but the meal earned a solid five stars, so I'm updating my overall rating to an average of four.
I heard that this restaurant is usually very busy and difficult to get a table, but we were fortunate to snag a table by the bar during their operating hours. The service was excellent. The pasta was delicious, and it was all handmade. It has a unique taste that sets it apart from regular pasta, which I absolutely loved.
We began our meal with a melon and cucumber salad, which was incredibly light and refreshing. We ordered three pasta dishes: the first was the spinach and mascarpone tortelli, which was my favorite and absolutely fantastic. The second dish, the sheep's milk ricotta, was a bit bland but still enjoyable. Lastly, we had the nduja spaghetti with pomodoro sauce, which I did not care for at all; while it looked great, the flavor didn't appeal to me. We concluded our meal with ice cream (pistachio and amaretto cookie). The flavors were outstanding, and the ice cream was wonderfully smooth and creamy! Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The only downside was securing a reservation at this popular restaurant, but I plan to return to try more pasta dishes.
Wow. Just, wow because everything was amazing. The ricotta toasts tasted exactly like it looked, creamy AF, instant favorite. The spinach and mascarpone filled tortellini was served to us by mistake and they let us keep it, and we’re so glad they did because that actually turned out to be our favorite pasta dish! The flavors just bursts and melts in your mouth. Portion size wise, I think two pastas and one starter (if it’s the ricotta toasts) would be the right amount for two ppl dining. Conclusion, Go to Misi if you’re in the area, but also go even if you’re not in the area.
4.8 Really nice food. Annoyingly hard to get a reservation, but that’s not their fault; we got in on a same day cancelation.Everything we ordered was perfect. Interesting but not overpowering, perfectly balanced. Excellent vegetarian options. The whole menu is antipasti, pasta and gelato, but lots of variation within that. We had the artichoke (with green sauce and mint , the chitarra pasta with tomato basil, and the sheeps milk ricotta filled occhi with lemon. Small portions you could definitely do 3 pastas for 2 people or even 2 each if you’re really hungry. Antipasti are also better to share at least 2 3ways. I want to come back and try more!!The cocktail menu is a bit Negroni/Aperol heavy for my preference, but thats my bias because I don’t like cherry. I had a white wine (forget which one asked for a dry recommendation and it was lovely.Gelato is the only dessert but it is ?? ? We had pistachio ? which is a bit salty (is a good way!! and double chocolate which is DEEP and rich. Amazing. The atmosphere is open, bright, white+grey. It’s surprisingly not that loud for how open the space is. We sat at the chefs counter which was fun to watch !! and never noticed what the people beside us were talking about.Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes (antipasti and pasta are vegetarian.
