I can't believe that such a nice resort would have such a terrible restaurant. I'm shocked!
My rib eyes are now the third best steak I've ever densed. I am 55 and love steaks. interesting and very cool unique type of service. while we have a certain server dedicated to us, each of the waiting employees acted as if that was their role. the primary took our beverage order and start eating, another actually took the main course. I've never seen the floor of my glass until I stopped.
We came with low expectations because of the bad reviews we had seen on the line. it was worse than we imagined. the cheeseburgers were good. the pommes were delicious. but the service was slow and angry. the low point was told by the server that two different 40/$45 bottles of wine we asked were sold out. when we complained to the manager, he said they had a lot. uninformed server or wanted to sell us? I wouldn't expect a st regis property either. the resort is delightful, but like another one, it is in our mutual golf cart trip back to the main hotel from dinner they feel claustrophobic because there are so few restaurants to choose from. they are trapped so they can treat them, but please. oh and have I mentioned the air conditioning that drips on my man? I would stay in san juan am vanderbilt.
The scallop appetizer was one of the best scallop dishes I've ever had.
This used to be a great restaurant! After they changed the name, something went wrong: the menu changed significantly (the menu on 'open table ' is not updated as mid March) basically there is nothing in the menu to order aside from salads as appetizers (salads which you could have at any other restaurant) or no more than 6 7 dishes as main course (again, nothing you could have at any other restaurant). The quality of the food was not quite good: we ordered grouper and was something wrong with the fish as was tasting really salty and definitely 'spent a lot of time in the freezer ' before was served. In top of that the service was very slow a lot of personnel waitresses as it was hard to know who is serving what, but nobody seems 'to be in charge ' with one table at a time. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant as much as you can until they will bring it back to what used to be!
