The Hangry Cook (nostrand) - Brooklyn

The customer service here is horrible. They don’t answer the phone but when you go there they tell you you can only order by phone. When I told the lady that’s what I did nobody answered she responded by saying “we’re not taking orders in person” so why didn’t you answer the phone and just say that instead of making me come to the store and waste my precious time? Get more help, it’s simple your business has hit a ceiling time to hire more people it’s simple!!!7/1I actually called today still nobody answered the phone , when I came down here to make an order after telling her my name she asked if I left the review then told me “l shouldn’t take your order after you left the review”!! If you can’t take the criticism get out the business you’re an Angry miserable woman I know why the cook is Hangry!!! This establishment will be open less then a year they wanted $35 for an egg platter and French toast. Between the prices and the angry woman at the register a year tops!

The food is okay at best. Additionally, the woman that takes the order in the morning time is very rude and obnoxious. Her behavior was completely uncalled for and was unprofessional. Everytime I call she's nasty and I can get better service in other places in Brooklyn.

My nice ordered a Mocha Coffee and the Nutella French Toast on Saturday, May 21st. Sadly the Nutella French Toast was saturated with Nutella. I went back to The Hungry Cook and asked if they can redo it but instead of saturating it with Nutella if it can be just drizzled instead. Now I have been coming to this restaurant and supporting them all throughout the pandemic and this was the first time that I've ever complained about any item. The young lady response was I packed this and it didn't look like that yet and the same sentence she said there's nothing wrong with it this is how a Nutella French Toast is made. I explained that my niece has had it before but it's not usually saturated with Nutella just drizzled. The Manager spoke to me and he agreed with his worker that it's unfortunate but they will not make it over. Their entire attitude was dismissive and unbothered. This restaurant is in my neighborhood and I really make an effort to support all small businesses especially the ones in my neighborhood. The fact that I have been a loyal customer even before their recent name changed even through the pandemic and this young lady knows me to be a regular customer it meant nothing. Today, I didn't received good customer service the worst aspect of this scenario was their attitude, no they didn't raise their voice, yell or screamed it was just all Nice Nasty I would've preferred Phony Nice instead. Unfortunately, I can no longer support this business it they could of just extended me some common courtesy they would have maintained a regular customer who would of being bragging about their great customer service because word of mouth can really help a business to thrive and be successful.

Ordered from here through Uber eats and the food was soo delicious! It was still warm when it arrived which was great and it was packed neatly. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The omelet, potatoes, French toast... all good choices. No complaints about this spot!

Place is yummy! Great when I want just a simple BLT. Only thing is I wish they’d offer other sides beyond regular potato chips.Great food though!
