I have visited Wakuwaku in Industry City three times now. The first two visits were disappointing due to poor service, but on my most recent visit, the food, service, and atmosphere were all improved. While it may not be as good as Yokocho Village, Wakuwaku satisfied my cravings with delicious dishes like deep fried tempura corn with matcha salt, flavorful skewers, and tender Saba Mackerel. The potato salad had a surprising wasabi kick, which may not be for everyone but was enjoyed by my dining partner. The Okairi Old Fashioned drink was exceptional, thanks to the skilled bartender. A tip for those ordering fried or greasy foods: balance out the flavors with a cup of green tea. Overall, Wakuwaku has redeemed itself and is worth a visit.
The yakitori at this restaurant is good, and the service is quick. However, the grilling could be improved in some areas, as the bacon wrapped enoki was a bit soggy. The udon was tasty though.
Our bartender john was fabulous! he made great and delicious cocktails for us. will definitely return!
Completely unexpected gem in the industrial city. everything we had was amazing and they must understand that when they are in a legit izakaya, so everything is done with real time, care and authenticity. if they are not used to it or not familiar with culture, this could not be the place for them that could explain some of the bad reviews. drinks were amazing and so was eating! all for a wild affordable price especially when considering the quality of each small plate. a cute date night spot overall
