Colorful art and tasteful photography adorned the walls, while arts and crafts, along with books were harmlessly scattered around, waiting for a curious customer to pick them up.The food was delicious and varied. Vegan options are available. Natural smoothies, juices, and teas are also available. But the one thing that stole my palette was the Banana Pudding. A1! Prices are reasonable and affordable. Come through!
Gospel brunch is every first Saturday open mic with food on sale. The banana pudding is to die for the best I've had in my life. The food is delicious and black owned. The cafe is only open every Thursday and Friday 4pm-8pm and on Saturdays 12-5
From the first step in to this establishment I was welcomed by such great energy. This sweet little cafe offers such a wide variety of healthy on the go options. Staff is so attentive and will not hesitate to adjust any menu item to your personal preference. I had the chicken caesar salad wrap and their infamous homemade banana pudding.Would highly recommend ?
I visited Word Up Cafe out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. It is a cozy cafe that hosts a variety of events. During my visit, there was a reading and study session happening, which was informative and engaging. The soup I had was both filling and delicious, a pleasant surprise. They also host spoken word nights where individuals can share their poems, essays, and thoughts. Additionally, they have a small outdoor seating area perfect for warm weather. I believe Word Up Cafe is a hidden gem in East New York and I plan on returning in the future.
Have you tried the absolutely delicious coconut and pineapple smoothie at this restaurant? I loved my mixed strawberry and banana smoothie too!
