North Side Tavern - Broomfield

I came in with my girlfriend last night, as we have just moved to the area. Been wanting to check it out! Real cozy local vibe and feel. Staff was a very welcoming and was able to get a nice booth on an early Friday evening. Got 2 dirty martinis, that would have been perfect but it tasted like the olives had been on the bar tray awhile and mixed with other flavors. The whiskey ginger and mule order after were perfect. We started with a 6pc style house made pretzel sticks-they were run of the mill bar wings, not bad. If they are brined and rubbed they might have been over fried. House made pretzel sticks were awesome, but cheese sauce could be better. I got the fish and chips, and my girlfriend got tavern burger. Fish and chips were great and tarter was awesome. My fries were alright but my the sweet potato fries were awesome. Key lime pie is a must order, it was the best dish of the night! Overall would definitely come back. Check it out!

I lived in Seattle for over 20 years. Needless to say I could get get some great seafood and fish up there. Here in Co. I have lowered expectations for this type of food. I ordered the fish, it was Amazing! Costal quality! By far the best I have found in the greater Denver area so far. Great food and good service!

Let me start with our food was delicious and our waiter was great. Then the reason for only three stars. The red headed hostess was rude. Let me explain, my sister is in town fro San Diego and I had read great reviews so I thought this was a good time to try. When we arrived the blonde haired hostess said the wait would be 10-15 minutes for an inside table, we were fine with that, we got our pager and went outside to wait. As we are waiting we see several other diners that arrived after us get paged . After 30 minutes we went in to check now it was the red headed hostess, we explained how we had been waiting and the pager never went off but we noted others getting settled, she automatically had an attitude and said All the people we observed being settled wanted the patio and nothing had come available inside. While she is telling us this we see the last and see our name was crossed off. We brought that to her attention and she did not acknowledge that. I just hope people in that type of position need to understand the importance of good customer service. It would have been much easy for her to admit a problem and not get an attitude.
