A little jem of a restaurant with fresh food. The general Tao chicken and garlic spareribs were fantastic. The wontons melt in your mouth because they are so fresh. Will be back!

Sai Yan is a BYOW restaurant. What we love about this place is that it has a special menu of about dishes one can select from for a very decent price. So, if our party was only people, we would pick dishes...from that menu. If we were we would pick dishes. It works like a very flexible table d'hôte. Depending on the weather and the season, some special dishes are also available (for example, surf clam, razor clams, oysters,.. The cuisine is authentic Chinese, in general very good.

Fourth visit to this restaurant. Food is still great but can't seem to accommodate larger groups. We were dinners and the server was at a loss to organize the meals. I reserved ahead and asked for a large round table of which there...are two. Apparently they are reserved for Chinese customers only. we were jammed into a table made up of four smaller tables. The order were mix up some didn't get what they order . Server was lost. Food was still great. Don't go as a large group.

After the rush to close all Chinese restaurants on the south shore and replacing them with Sushi bars, one restaurant stayed the course and improved on it's predecessor. We have been for both supper and took advantage of the luncheon specials. All great. Fresh ingredients,...pleasant service and value. It's the first time that I've had General Tao chicken where it was not battered and fried to death. The Wong Ton soup is home made and the vegetable accompaniments always fresh. Enjoy!

Most folks go expecting regular Canadian style Chinese food however this place goes far beyond. There are two menus. The black menu is for a more average style Chinese food but even then it's far better than most restaurants. The green menu is full of...amazing delights all fresh and delicious. The lobster, shrimp, the hot pots and veggie plates are all excellent. The owner walks around and chats with customers. Should you have any questions, she is pleased to answer and if you would like something made to order she makes your wish happen. This is also a BYOW spot so feel free to bring your favourite with to compliment an awesome meal. We eat there at least once a week.
