The first time I stood in line for over 15 minutes while 4 employees in the deli seemed to struggle with basic functions. For example one gentleman was trying to takeboxes that are used to package food out of the container they were shipped/delivered in. It literally took him almost 7 minutesto figure out to put his feet around the box to pull the boxes out of the box. another girl struggled for over five minutes toget a lid to close on a to go container. I finally got frustrated and left after standing there over 15 minutes. I decided to gowith approximately noon today to give them another chance. However, I went to go order some Cracklin, and it was advised theywere out, and will not be making any more. It is frustrating to see businesses complain they are making no money. However, youtry to go spend money and you literally can?t.
I purchased a delicious sampler tray for a Dr's office. It looked and smelled absolutely delicious! The office staff absolutely loved it! I didn't indulge ???? My personal trainer sees my post! ????
I always loved the Boudin , but for some reason the consistency wasn't there anymore . I was very disappointed .
I have tried all of the most popular specialty meat shops in south Louisiana while travelling from East Texas to my job off shore. Chops has the absolute best Boudin hands down. I would stop on my way home every time and buy several boxes for friendsand family. We love it. They also have the best Cracklins anywhere in southern Louisiana. They people are very friendly as well.I definitely recommend this place if you want the best Boudin and Cracklins. It is always fresh and they have a lot of specialtymeats that you will not find anywhere else then southern Louisiana.
After being told Chops was the best boudin around I had to give it a try. Well after 2 years of stopping by when in the area to load up a cooler to bring back to Houston, the recommendation was obviously spot on! I typically write reviews when overlyimpressed with a place, but honestly never really thought about writing one for a grocery/meat market. Well, that was untilyesterday, because Chops management went above and beyond to correct an honest mistake that I brought to their attention. I washonestly only bringing it to their attention as an FYI, but the response I received is definitely noteworthy. I purchased a fewhundred dollars worth of boudin, fresh sausage and specialty meats for myself and some co-workers that had placed orders and asusual just paid and left. It wasn't until I got back home and unloaded my cooler and noticed that my boudin was mislabeled withanother product. Truly an honest mistake as I have come across this even at large chain grocery stores where something wasmislabeled. Shame on me as well for not checking and reviewing my receipt before leaving, Fast forward, and I sent them amessage on FB literally joking about their high priced boudin with a picture showing the incorrect label. Without delay or anyquestions, the store responded with apologies and offering ways to make it right. I told them I lived in Houston and they askedfor my address to send me some boudin for my troubles. That's the true definition of customer service and the reason I willcontinue to purchase and recommend my friends and family to support Chops when they are in the area as well. Way to go Chops! #customerforlife
