Francine's Soul Food - Brownsboro

I drove down from Ben Wheeler and couldn't find Francine's. I asked a local police officer for recommendations and he told me that Big Mac's was the only option for home cooking in town. I would suggest avoiding Big Mac's if possible.

This restaurant on Highway 31 is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys authentic and delicious Southern cuisine. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was fantastic. My wife tried the fried catfish and it was equally amazing. The standout dishes, however, were the sides - the cabbage, pinto beans, and black eyed peas were some of the best I've ever had. I will definitely be returning soon.

Excellent!!!!! Happened upon this restaurant and had an incredible meal. Chicken fried steak was a large portion, perfect gravy and not greasy. Salmon croquettes yummie and handmade burger cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back!

Although it may not seem like anything special from the exterior, as soon as you step foot inside this restaurant, you are greeted with a sense of comfort and nostalgia reminiscent of home-cooked Southern meals. Every dish on the menu is exceptional, but my personal favorite is the chicken fried chicken served with mashed potatoes, turnip greens, and hot water cornbread. You simply can't go wrong with this place!
