Madeira - Brownsville

The food and atmosphere are fantastic, but the prices are high—comparable to or even more expensive than those in cities like New York or Dallas.

The food was delicious and the service was wonderful, but we had an issue with Oliver, the receptionist, who seemed biased. We requested a table for four, even though our party only had two people. There was an available table, and I asked if we could sit there since both of us struggle with standing due to our short legs. Instead of a helpful response, I felt we encountered an attitude as it seemed they were looking for a larger party of 3 to 4. The table wasn’t reserved, yet about 30 minutes after we arrived, they seated a single gentleman at that same table for two. This was particularly disappointing as it was our 45th anniversary, and I ended up experiencing leg cramps all night. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve had a similar experience.

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Brownsville, TX—definitely deserving of more than five stars. The service was exceptional, and the presentation of the meals was impressive. The last time I experienced such service was at restaurants in Europe, where I used to live. The food was expertly prepared and thoroughly satisfying. Even the drinks were crafted and served with care. I truly commend this establishment. It offers great value for the price. This is definitely one of my top favorite restaurants, if not the absolute best.

This restaurant is truly a gem in Brownsville. It boasts a fantastic location, friendly staff, and delicious food. I particularly enjoyed the Beet Tartare appetizer. I can’t wait to return to try the Smoked Old Fashioned cocktail; it has such an impressive presentation!

Excellent, before we knew, we spent 4 hours there. Lighting is dim and light on the eyes. Your menu is a cube with a QR code for your phone so easy to read. The music is just loud enough to drown other tables, but low enough to lead a private conversation. Our waiter, Pablo, was fast and very attentive. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked as we ordered it, and beautifully presented. It was so good that I made a reservation for my mother's birthday party. I'll add more photos when we go back when we go back.
