Phone just rings for ages then an answer machine says you cant leave a message. Drove past to check i had the right number yep same number as displayed on the front. One time the phone was answered and i was asked to call back later, which i tried again and again to no avail. Have instead booked Vivos down the road. Ciao if you are going to run a business at least answer your phone, or provide a proper answering machine service!
Was not aware that Gino had retired and restaurant now under new owners, with new name Ciao But honestly wish these guys all the success they deserve; if our meal experience last night was anything to go by. Fresh ingredients, put together to create amazing dishes, garlic mushrooms to die for every mouthful of fillet with delicious peppercorn sauce melted in the mouth AMAZING. Not busy, but atmosphere was relaxed with friendly prompt service, reasonably priced. liked fact that chief came out to speak with customers and offered to make anything off menu (provided ingredients avail) Would much prefer to wait a while and get totally fresh prepared cooked meal than have something pre cooked then thrown together in 5 minutes. If forced had to add any negative, would be selection of drinks, we are Cider and Ale drinkers but made do with a nice bottle of wine and Peroni Larger but guess if you want the real Italian experience it 's small price to pay. We will definatley be returning thank you for a fantastic meal.
Popped in here after visiting Katie's Nails in Long Eaton. Didn't know what to expect as we had never tried the restaurant before. Long story short we were pleasantly surprised! Excellent on service, food and price! Carbonara made the real Italian way all cooked to order with fresh ingredients so the small wait was well worth it. We will definitely be returning and taking friends next time round. We live the other side of Nottingham so hope the locals pay them a visit, they won't be disappointed lovely homemade Tiramisu btw :
Only decided to give Ciao a try when I seen it had new oweners (9.06.14) we arrived early doors 18.45hrs , good enough menu for the size of the restaurant, they do an early bird two courses of the main menu for £10.45 add £4.50 if you have a fillet steak , offered to do a chicken stroganoff with pasta for the wife that was not on the menu I had the fillet both came with fries and salad the starter's as the mains were well cooked and really fresh , well done guys wish you well in your new venture , we will be back
My wife liked her meal, but mine was cold and not much better after reheating - dry pasta and overcooked ham. The portion was tiny, more like a starter than a main course. We won't be returning anytime soon.
