Arc Bistro Krone - BRUNICO

My wife and I were in Brunico to see our friends in July. We had an excellent lunch at the Pizzeria Arc Bistro. The menu choices, the service and the location of the restaurant were excellent. We have stayed in Brunico many times and always enjoy dinning at the Pizzeria Arc Bistro at the Hotel Krone.

Worst experience ever! Busy staff, arrogant treatment , poor cooking. Dishes arrived at various points in time. I asked for the check. Not possible to pay at the table and was referred to pay at the counter. First counter did not accept cards, second counter could only be reached by exiting the restaurant and re-entering via an adjacent door. The staff at the counter had absolutely no clue of why I was there and what I was supposed to pay. We went thru the menu together, item by item, until payment could finally be made. We left the restaurant, frustrated and with a sense of huge disappointment. Avoid this restaurant! However, the female staff did their best to provide some kind of basic service.

We went here with 9 people. Let me start of with the food and wine. The food tasted very good, both the local Graukäsesuppe and The kräuterrisotto with Breasola was the best risotto i ever had. They had good wines for good prices as well. IF they would fix their serving timing i would have given it a five star but it was so much room for improvement. Firstly we had booked a table for 19.30 and didnt get it until 19.50. Secondly the food took VERY long, like an hour to come. Thirdly but most importantly the dishes didnt remotely come close to eachother timewise. One of us would get one meal and then finish it before the next arrived, etc.

In a very nice part of this quiet little town. It is nice sitting on the terrace, watching people passing by. But, service is very slow (a bit on the rude side too) and food is mediocre at best. The glass of white wine however was appreciated.

We are here this evening after a full days ski. I am a vegetarian and explained this to them and said no meat or fish. I ordered the only thing on the menu suitable and it arrived with three large pieces of bacon on the top, it was taken away and brought back working about a minute without the bacon. My husband then found a lump of metal in his dumpling! I handed it to the waitress. No apology, absolutely nothing! Will not return!
