We decided to have a spontaneous pub meal here last night, just my husband and me. The bistro was quite empty, so we were seated right away. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. We started with chicken wings, and I ordered the snapper as the fish of the day, while my husband opted for his reliable Parma. The wings were delicious, though I would have appreciated a dipping sauce to go with them. My snapper was cooked to perfection and came in a generous portion. Although the total came to over $80 for two drinks, it’s not a cheap pub meal, but the quality was definitely impressive.

It’s been a while since this place received a review, so I wanted to give you an update. We’ve dined here many times and have been satisfied each time. I’ve had the Sunday roast on a couple of occasions, and it’s both affordable and high quality. During my most recent visit, I had a steak that was amazing—smoky and flavorful from the grill, yet tender and cooked to perfection. My dinner companion ordered the Parma, and it looked impressive in size. The chips are top-notch as well. The desserts are decent, and the drinks are reasonably priced. I personally prefer this pub to others in Brunswick because the food is better. It feels a bit like a local secret.

We we went for trivia night which was great, but the food was phenomenal and had a huge range for not only meat eaters, but Vegos, vegans and gluten free-ers as well. Tasty and delicious you could order small plates, or regular meals. The prices were on the higher side for a traditional pub, and the fit out is still a traditional pub with a paint job, but to be honest they're worth it. The chef is really pushing himself here, and I like it. Will definitely  be back.

Absolutely! The Local offers incredible food, a fantastic pool table, and great beer. The vegetarian dishes are outstanding, particularly the Baked Eggplant. It's one of the few bars in the area that serves a quality IPA.
