So much to see do, food, drinks, walks and more countryside than you can shake a stick at. We liked it so much we immediately bought annual membership, which brings its own benefits, far too many to go into on this platform, they're website is WAY more informative. I can't comment on the rooms or service as we didn't actually stay at the hotel, we only walked around the gardens, and only part of that, but it is well worth a visit for that alone. I'm sure if it's within your budget, a stay at the hotel will be exemplary. (I hope to let you know......eventually!
We have been visiting this wonderful place since it first opened. There is always something different each time we visit which is at least once a month. We cannot praise it enough. the layout the attractions the facilities the food and drink and the variety of this are all five star. But what impresses us most of all is the enthusiasm, zest, level of knowledge and willingness to share of the staff. On our latest visit we had some issues with the annual payment mechanism and the Newt app. We took our phones along to the entry area and a lovely lady called Charlotte was more than helpful. She knew exactly what to do and completed the task skilfully and swiftly while multitasking with other visitors who needed to gain entry at the same time. Many thanks to Charlotte
We stayed at the Farmyard, but enjoyed the gardens at the main house, plus the spa, pool, yoga, and restaurant. Really amazing place with a relaxed atmosphere. Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic
Oh dear, what is happening at the Newt. Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely place to visit BUT: had breakfast in the Garden Cafe and service was shocking. First the croissant didn’t arrive so asked for that, then the extra bacon with French toast didn’t arrive and had to go and ask for that, then second coffee didn’t arrive and had to go and ask for that. When you consider the bill for very little was £40 plus for two I don’t really expect this and certainly with no apology . After the Roman Villa and a lovely walk we went to the open terrace for a cold drink. What could go wrong? Well, let’s just say 25 mins in relatively small queue with two people taking orders . Snails pace doesn’t begin to describe how people are served . On top of this, at 1:15 when people want lunch things they seem to run out of soooooo much. When eventually asking for my two cold drinks, the server walked off to help a colleague on the till for several minutes without one word of communication. So, whilst the Newt is lovely, take your own packed lunch and drinks as you’ll be waiting a crazy amount of time. The Newt; seriously this needs to be addressed.
Limited menu and very slow and innatentive service. Could not recommend Service: 2 Location: 4
