Shipley Do-nuts - Buda

Staff couldn’t explain to me what was on the menu in English and very frustrated to understand them. Very rude and the manager quoted “we are very busy” but it was only me and one person in drive thru. I felt rushed and they didn’t take they time to talk and explain their items on the bored. Lack of communication with the staff because I asked for a chimphill or whatever but she claimed they was out but the manager said they wasn’t. Too much back and forth for old products and hard food. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL MANAGEMENT! The new management lack communication and customer service.

Do-nuts didn't taste fresh. Probably won't go back to this location.

This place has pretty good donuts but really, the kolaches are the go-to order here. Staff is pretty friendly and professional. Definitely one of the better-kept and well-run Shipley's I've visited around Texas.

Well aside from having nearly none of the kolaches on their menu available and the nearly 7 misspellings on their window flyers, it may have been the tray full of dead bugs next to the tip jar, or the dead bee pressed against the window in front of their We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service sign that really punctuated the disappointing stop. Needless to say, the health inspector needs to pay a visit, and seemingly, so do a few of their suppliers. Definitely a departure from the standard set by the Houston stores.

Today, Monday, I encountered a terrible smell from a backed-up grease trap. I mentioned this to the Oriental manager, who obviously lied and claimed they clean it every day. I understand they might want to deceive customers. I ordered a few of the "bold" kolaches, also known as big earl kolaches, but that was another lie. They were not big at all; they were more like hot dog-sized. This will be my last visit here. Forget this place. Donut Palace down the street is at least somewhat decent. Cigar Vault is nice, though; Robert is the best there. He allows me to revise my 38-year-old recipes.
